Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Icony ("the Service") handles, and how the Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Cloudflare Web Analytics services used on the Service use cookies and visit data.

1. Information the Service Handles

The Service has no accounts or logins and never asks for your name, email, or phone number. It does handle the following:

  • Settings stored in your browser: Favorites, recent icons and colors, saved palettes, theme (dark/light), language, the editor's panel width, and whether you have seen the intro guide are kept in your browser's local storage and are not sent to the Service's servers.
  • Visit and usage data: Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Cloudflare Web Analytics (sections 2–4) collect data such as the pages you visit, your browser and device, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Email: If you write to help@iconyapp.com, I receive your email address and your message, and I use them to reply.

2. Google Analytics

The Service uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to tell visitors and sessions apart, and sends Google data such as the pages you view, the referring site, your browser and device, and your approximate location. I only look at this data as aggregate reports.

3. Cookies and Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)

The Service shows ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies as follows:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

For more on how Google uses advertising cookies, see Google's advertising policies.

4. Cloudflare Web Analytics

The Service also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or local storage, and it reports only aggregate visit statistics such as page views, referrers, and browser types. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details.

5. Your Choices

You can delete the settings in local storage at any time by clearing your browser's site data; Icony never uploads them. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Editing and exporting icons still works with cookies blocked.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 14 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may change. Any changes will be posted on this page.
